Mandarin Vocabulary Tracker

Track Mandarin vocabulary from words you actually read, with saved sentence context, HSK levels, and review tools.

A Mandarin vocabulary tracker should answer a better question than "how many cards did I make?" It should show which words you met in real reading and which ones you chose to save.

Pinyora tracks vocabulary from context. When you tap and save a word, it joins your vocabulary list with pinyin, meaning, HSK level when available, and the original sentence.

What makes tracking useful

Counting words is only useful if the words came from meaningful exposure. A list of 500 random words can look impressive but still fail when you read a real paragraph.

Useful tracking should show:

  • Words saved from stories or pasted text
  • HSK progress by level
  • Recently saved words
  • Review prompts from context
  • Words outside the HSK list

How to avoid vocabulary overload

Save fewer words than you think. One strong word from a sentence you understood is better than ten words you never want to see again.

For a reading-first workflow, use the Chinese vocabulary builder. For level progress, open the HSK Progress guide hub.
