HSK 2 Reading Practice
Practice HSK 2 Chinese reading with graded stories, pinyin controls, sentence audio, saved vocabulary, and HSK progress tracking.
HSK 2 reading is where Chinese starts to feel like connected text. You still see simple sentences, but the topics widen: daily routines, hobbies, shopping, travel, weather, and basic opinions.
The challenge is not memorizing the list. It is reading familiar words quickly enough that the sentence makes sense as a whole.
What to focus on at HSK 2
- Time phrases before verbs
- Comparisons with 比
- Completed actions with 了
- Questions with 为什么, 怎么, 多少
- Common complements and result words
Read slowly at first, but do not turn every sentence into a translation exercise. Use pinyin and English as support, then come back to the Chinese.
A simple reading workflow
- Choose an easy story.
- Read the sentence once with pinyin.
- Tap a word only when it blocks understanding.
- Save one word that you expect to see again.
- Press Play all and follow the Chinese text.
For the level map, read the HSK 2 study guide. If you want a broader overview, see HSK reading practice.
