虽然…但是: how to say “although … but” in Chinese
虽然 A,但是 B
although … but — concessive pair
Chinese keeps both halves. Where English picks either ‘although’ or ‘but’, here 虽然 marks the fact you are conceding and 但是 marks the point that survives it.
虽然很累,但是我很开心。
Suīrán hěn lèi, dànshì wǒ hěn kāixīn.
Although I'm tired, I'm happy.
